UNESCO's International Hydrological Programme (UNESCO - IHP)
The International Hydrological Programme is an intergovernmental programme of the UN system devoted to water research, water resources management, and education and capacity building. It's work in the water sector is built on three tracks:
• Hydrological science for policy relevant advice
• Education and capacity building
• Water resource assessment and management. Themes IHP is working with include water quality protection and augmentation, climate change, ecosystem management and conservation, legislation (enhancing legislation for water stewardship and building frameworks for water management cooperation) and strategies for financing.
