Global Water Partnership (GWP)
The Global Water Partnership is a network founded by the World Bank, UNDP and SIDA to foster integrated water resource management (IWRM). GWP activities can be divided into the following tracks:
• Promote good water governance and management, appropriate infrastructure and sustainable financing by building local capacities and help governments implement their policies and plans.
• Helping international actors and multi-lateral policy processes work with a clearer understanding of the options available for tackling emerging and on-going challenges facing water resources such as climate change and resource-related conflicts.
• Developing the capacity to share knowledge and promoting a dynamic communications culture, so as to support better water management.
• Building the capacity of Regional Water Partnerships so they carry out their work plans more effectively and provide support to the Country Water Partnerships.
